Many of the best models work with your smartphone. Look for an app that allows you to save maps, create schedules and select cleaning options.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
Eufy's gunmetal-and gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuum and mop combinations on the market. It makes use of lidar to navigate and create maps of rooms and floors (even multiple levels) and is compatible with the free Eufy Clean app to let you set schedules and customize the S1's behaviour.
The S1 was able to map my downstairs quickly, which includes linoleum flooring in the kitchen, dining area, and bathrooms and a medium-pile and a large rug. It was capable of driving close to walls and even across raised thresholds without issue. However, it had some difficulty traversing the stairs in one pass. The S1 also did a fantastic job of cleaning hard floors by dragging its mop smoothly on the flat side against the floor and lifting itself when it was near carpet or rug.
Prior to each mopping session the docking station on the S1 automatically emptys its dust bin and refills its water tank onboard with clean ozonated filtered water. The dock adds a deep-cleaning solution for the water. The S1's water tank can hold enough water for about a dozen cleaning sessions before it has to be emptied, though this will vary depending on how much you use the mop.
The S1 needs periodic maintenance, just like other 2-in-1 robots. To do this, you'll need to clean the dirty water tank occasionally to prevent it from clogging. You'll also need to clean the swivel wheels and sensors frequently to avoid them from getting blocked by dirt or dust. Overall the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
This all-in-one robot mop and vacuum from Ecovacs is a powerful option for cleaning requirements. The Ecovacs robot vacuum has 8,700Pa of suction and offers a number of unique features, including full home mapping, voice control and smart path-planning that avoids obstructions and cleans furniture. Its mopping capability is impressive. Rotating mop pads actually lift floors and scrub it instead of just moving a pad across the surface. The mops are cleaned and dried at the base station, as needed.
The robot is simple to set up and use, and has a clear interface that guides you through the procedure. It also comes with a hand-vacuum which can be used to clean those hard-to reach areas that the robot is unable to reach. There are also two water tanks that can be automatically emptied or refilled. It comes with a range of settings that can be used to fine-tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does a good job at vacuuming, with strong suction that easily removes all kinds of debris, including the smaller bits of dust that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are solid as well, though it is sometimes hung up on the small area mats or rugs that I have in my house (which is something you can control by defining a virtual boundary in the application). 3. Dreame X40 ultra
Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was launched earlier this year. However, their latest flagship model has even more impressive features. It delivers outstanding cleaning results and is simple to maintain. This makes it a contender for our list of the best mops and robot vacuums. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a long side brush guarantee a thorough, customised clean.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, picking up large and fine particles from hard floors as well as carpets. It was able to clean the dirtiest areas of our tests efficiently, avoiding pet hairs and other messes. It comes with a smart app that lets you schedule cleaning and set the floor type. It also has an automatic water tank filling and washing system that is hands-free.
The mops also stand out with their 2700Pa power that can combat pet hair and dirt, on both carpets and hard flooring. The Q5 is among the few robots we tested that didn't have any issues with high-pile carpets or area rug, but it was unable to pick up kitty litter or cable tangles and cable tangles, which isn't a surprise since it does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is the quietest robotic vacuum we've ever tested. It also features a unique mapping system that allows it to reach tight spaces and corners that other vacuums can't. This device also collects more dust in the larger bin, meaning that you don't have to empty it as often. It also has washable filters that further lower the expenses associated with using the device. The robot can recognize carpets, and increase suction if necessary. You can also mark areas you want to be able to keep from using the app.
